For best results when applying at home, He-Shi should always be applied with a He-Shi Tanning Mitt.

Is He-Shi suitable for everyone?Top
He-Shi tanning products are suitable for all skin types. The formulation adapts to individual skin tones, meaning your tan will look natural whatever your colouring. All He-Shi tanning products are suitable for men and women with the Express Liquid Tan especially good for men as its thin texture glides on easily and does not stick in body hair.
Does He-Shi smell?Top
We have carefully formulated our ingredients to ensure He-Shi does not contain any overpowering smells – it is practically odourless.
Do I need to moisturise first?Top
Moisturiser can act as a barrier, therefore you should not moisturise immediately before tanning. A small amount of moisturiser, however, can be added to areas of dry skin such as elbows and knees to avoid the tan clinging and appearing darker. It is important to exfoliate before tanning. Also bear in mind any waxing or shaving should be carried out at least 24 hours before applying the tan.
How do I apply He-Shi?Top
For an even, flawless colour, He-Shi tanning products should always be applied with a He-Shi Tanning Mitt. The mitt allows the tan to easily glide onto the skin and the lotion proof barrier inside the mitt will protect the palms of the hands from staining.
How soon can I dress after application?Top
He-Shi will dry in as little as 5 minutes, so you can dress immediately and get on with your day. Perfect for a last minute night out, simply apply, dress and go!
Does He-Shi stain clothes?Top
Should a small amount of tan transfer to your clothes, it will always wash off. For application you may choose to wear dark underwear, however disposable underwear will be provided within professional salons for spray tanning.
Will He-Shi get darker? Top
Your He-Shi tan will develop slightly over 6-8 hours. To achieve a deeper colour, simply add another layer immediately after your first application.
When can I wash?Top
Washing and vigorous exercise should be avoided for at least 8 hours after application. Excess bronzer will wash off during your first shower, this is completely normal. Pat dry, do not rub!
How long will He-Shi last?Top
Your He-Shi tan will fade naturally and last for approx. 5-7 days. It is important to moisturise daily to ensure an even wear off.
Does He-Shi contain sunscreen?Top
No. He-Shi products offer no protection from the sun. It is recommended to apply high factor sunscreen over your He-Shi tan when your skin is exposed to the sun.
He-Shi should not be applied over eczema, psoriasis, cuts or abrasions. If you are pregnant or are concerned about skin allergies, please check with your GP before tanning.
What is DHA?Top
The active ingredient in self tanning products is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). It is a non-toxic substance that reacts with the amino acids in the outermost layer of the skin and produces a brown pigment (colour) called melanoidin.
DHA is a simple carbohydrate made from sugar beets and sugar cane.
The DHA doesn't go beyond the outer layer of skin and therefore isn't absorbed into the body.
What are Parabens?Top
Parabens are a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. There have been some reports that parabens can cause reactions to some skin types which is why all He-Shi products are completely paraben free.
Can He-Shi be used during pregnancy?Top
It's recommended to avoid the using self tanning products in the first trimester of pregnancy due to changes in hormone levels, which can make allergies more likely.

Is He-Shi tested on animals?Top
No. He-Shi products are not tested on animals.
